Summer Bulletin 2009

2009 Summer Bulletin 06

We had a Friday 13th this week!

2009 Summer Bulletin 05

Let me wish you all, rather sheepishly, a very happy, some what cooler, Monday, and a good beginning to the working week.  I do apologise for the delay.  A badly timed blackout in the neighbourhood resulted in the logistical issue of logging onto the world wide web with a laptop that had run out of juice.  It was nice sitting around in the semi-darkness though, with only tea lights to shine a path between the solid objects room.

2009 Summer Bulletin 04

Good evening fellow Thoughtful Fooders and welcome to another bulletin.  Already the first month of 2009 is behind us.  I think it's completely true what they say about a year taking about 18 months when you're little.  Then they get progressively shorter as you age until suddenly a year passes in what seems like should have been six months.  Why is that?  Does time suddenly become more valuable?

2009 Summer Bulletin 03

Happy Australia Day everyone and happy Chinese New Year.  It definitely is the time for celebrations.  Not to mention festivals and gigs.  If you're interested in what's going on in the city, check out the City of Sydney webpage for the free celebrations and activities in China Town and various locations for Australia Day.  I do apologise for the delay in sending out this bulletin.  Yesterday disappeared far too quickly and this morning was spent eating the scones I made with the lemon herb in the vege box from a week ago!  Thank you to those that submitted contributions for the 'Community' section.  One in particular - I hope someone volunteers Jutta.  I also received a number of enquiries which I don't think managed to reply to in time.  As I don't monitor this inbox regularly throughout the week I have included

2009 Summer Bulletin 02

Hello to everyone on this beautiful summer's day.  The beach was packed today with everything from surfing, to beach volleyball, and all the little nippers training hard.  While I did the fun thing this morning, enjoying summer, now unfortunately it's back inside.  Back at the computer and back to the books.  The bulletin isn't too long today but there are a number of opportunities to get more involved in the co-op, so, may Thoughtful Foods grow ever stronger and fruitful, thanks to the combined talents of all involved.

Week 20 Bulletin

Good evening and many apologies to you all.  Bulletin number two and it's getting out one day earlier than the first but it's still later than it should be.  I hereby promise that my next bulletin will be dispatched in a timely manner.  This week isn't huge in the way of news but before it gets much later, let me get on with sharing it:

Week 19 Bulletin

Good Afternoon All,

Let me first say many thanks to Meghan and her many cheery bulletins filled with countless delicious appellations.  Although I know she's not gone just yet, let us wish her all the very best for the future anyway.  I can in no way claim to be as poetically able as her sorbet'd self.  In fact, I'm still muddling my way through the technicalities of dispatching this bulletin correctly.  In the hope of sending it out before it is ridiculously over due, I will keep my introductory ramblings to a minimum and get on with business.  First though: Hi.  I'm Joey and I'll be your compiler for this week.  And the next, and possiby u

Week 18 Bulletin

My soft-clouded crescent light,

The whole point of knowing when your last bulletin will be is being able to prepare for it, and get it out on time.

Oops.

I could tell you what I've been up to, but it's quite long--with twists and turns and way too many late nights.  Suffice it to say, life is busy (and mental and brilliant and exhausting), and deadlines perch on the shoulders of grad students, their green and purple feathers jockeying for position on the narrow slopes.

Better late than never, the good word:
