Week 16 Bulletin

My morning dew,

Oh what crisp and sunny skies! In northern lands these would be perfect autumn days, demanding soccer in the park, strolling arm-in-arm, and every manner of picturesque behavior that films are based on. If this is winter, I'm in.

Noon draws near so, without further ado, the good word:

Remember
This is the last week to stock up on goodness before the co-op shuts for two weeks. If you need anything get it Thursday. Also, please get it before 5:30. Yes, we do love you; but we also like to get home at a reasonable hour. Rockin' up at 5:50 is okay for grabbing an item or two, but not for your semi-annual shopping extravaganza! So, be sensible, come in early, get stuff done when we're not crowded.

Veggies

Veggies are on this week. Orders under the door by 9:00 am on Wednesday. There will be no veggies for two weeks, so it might not be a bad time to get a bigger box.

Eggs

We are still egg-less. A month without farm-fresh eggs, I confess, is an enormous challenge; but perhaps it will increase our gratitude towards Michele, the farm, and the chickens. Eggs will resume when the co-op reopens on 24 July.

Vollies

As per usual, we'd love some Thursday help. Please check the roster (attached) for times. It would be great to have lots of people on hand this week for two reasons:
1) to say our temporary goodbyes
2) to get the store spotless.

Rumors abound of a cleaning bee on Saturday. Please contact me ASAP if you're keen to help give the shop a scrub.

Also, we're going to need a new roster guru. If you're keen please reply to this email or contact Lauren. Thanks!

SoS & Climate Camp
The Students of Sustainability conference & Climate Camp are being held in Newcastle across the next few weeks. Google for details. Also, those of you headed north, please, please report back to us on how things went. Maybe write up a fine piece of journalism for Sage and send it to Gemma.

Taxes

Alan Liang (CPA, B. Bus), our new and trusty in-kind auditor, would like to offer all Thoughtful Foods members 10% of their tax returns!
Just call 8812 7968 or 0414 292 368 and say you're a member at the co-op.
See http://www.ajml.com.au for more details.

Aroma Fest
If you're a coffee & chocolate fan, plan to be in the Rocks on Sunday for $1/cup (or so they claim) deliciousness. Hopefully they'll have fair trade & organic options. The more we press for this stuff in the mainstream the more likely it is to catch on (just ask a Kiwi!).
Bump into you there!

Ciao, bella
as Tonia would say.

Apologies for the late-ish arrival of the bulletin, as I got wrapped up in The Deathly Hallows last night as Alice was packing for her month-of-July adventure. It's better on the second read, full of extraordinary humanity in all its glorious faults & firmly rooted in the theory of love conquers all.
It does, you know.

I hope you're all fully flung into this magnificent Monday. Enjoying the sun, even if, like me, it's from your office window.

I will see you this week at the co-op.

With love and coffee on the breeze-blown morning,

Meghan
