From Andrew
It's the winter break and many of our coordinators are away or working. For perhaps the same reasons, our volunteer numbers are very low. (I don't think there is anyone rostered on for a volunteer shift this Thursday!) This is beginning to be a problem as the workload is the same and there is often only one person around at any one time to use the register, answer questions, clean up outside, pick up the phone and sort out orders, simultaneously! So, any help you can give this or next Thursday (the last two open days of the winter break) would be highly appreciated. Thoughtful Foods is a member run organisation and we can't function properly without your help.
If you can't spare a few hours in the shop, at least remember to be patient with the volunteers who are quite busy and may have been there many hours already. (Perhaps recite them some poetry or offer to make them some tea?)
Cleaning Beeee - This Saturday!
From Andrew
If you can't volunteer during shop hours due to other commitments but would still like the opportunity to volunteer how about dropping by this Saturday to help out in our cleaning beeee? There will beeee music, snacks, and great company, and it will beeee a great opportunity to earn volunteer discounts in the shop! (One hour gives you a 25% discount; two hours gives you a 40% discount.) It will beeee held beeeetween 10am and 4pm, Saturday July 11, and is beeeeing organised by Cassie and Andrew.
We haven't received any response yet, and we're hoping not to beeee the only two cleaning the shop. If you're interested in coming along please RSVP to info@thoughtfulfoods.org.au so we know when people are going to beeee there - or just email if you have any questions!.
Vegetable order issues - please read
From Andrew
Some members have mentioned that their fruit and vegetable orders have not been put in for the correct week. There are a few reasons these issues may have come about but to make our (Andrew and Suzie's) job easier it would be great if those placing fruit and vegetable box orders could make sure their forms have all the correct information and that everything (especially the date and box type ordered) is clear. If you feel that your form is looking a little difficult to translate, perhaps it is time to use a new one.
If you are changing the date on your form often, or the box size, please remember to use pencil - it can be erased so you can re-use your form and make it very clear. Also, if you are ordering two boxes (we allow people to order an additional $10 fruit or vegetable box with any mixed box) please use two separate forms. This makes Andrew's job early in the week so much simpler!
