Welcome to Week One of Semester Two of 2009! For those of you that had time free from studies, I hope you're refreshed and ready to begin again. For those like me that barely even noticed that there is such a thing as a Winter Break, well.... more of the same doesn't hurt, especially when it's self inflicted. I mean, who made me enroll, right???

Opening Hours
From Andrew
This week is week one of UNSW's second semester. This means we now return to our regularly scheduled opening hours (listed at the top of this bulletin).
Welcome Back Social Event
From Andrew
The event which we are putting on with the Enviro Collective as a joint welcome back BBQ and Climate Camp fundraiser is being postponed to Thursday August 13 (week 4). The Roundhouse had apparently double-booked us. It's a little annoying, but, as we're holding it outside (weather permitting), perhaps this is a good thing - we'll be holding the event two weeks closer to spring! It also gives us a few extra weeks to talk it up.
So, mark Thursday August 13 on your calendars and let everyone know about it. There will be food and (probably) chai for a small donation, and free live bands! Not to mention lots of great people to mingle with. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

From Andrew
Fernanda has decided to work on the garden at a regular time this semester - from 10am to 1pm Tuesdays - until further notice. If you're interested in helping out in the garden this would be a perfect time! HOWEVER - please note that this will start next week. So that's Tuesday 28th July.
If you have any questions regardening the garden, please email Fernanda (gardening@thoughtfulfoods. org.au)
PRODUCT NEWS From Suzie
Welcome back to the start of a new semester. During the winter break, the coop was cleaned from top to bottom thanks to our group of cleaning bee vollies, the shelves were reorganised and we'll have all the staples back in for you to restock the winter pantry.
*New*
Besan flour, coconut flour (both gluten free), black turtle beans.
Chana dal, oat milk, soap nuts, bhuja mix ... there's a little bit left so we have marked it down to cost price to clear on the discounts table!
Roster
From Andrew
Now that we're open three days a week, there are three times as many opportunities for you to volunteer in the shop! Currently, however, there is only one name on the roster for the coming two weeks! (Check out the on-line version fo the roster here.) Please, please, please come by to help out if you have some time this semester. It's really quite fun.
[And please put your name on the roster if you know in advance that you'll be coming as it helps us to have an idea of numbers throughout the day and enables up to plan tasks better]
Training Sessions
From Andrew
If you haven't volunteered before we prefer that you come along to one of our training sessions. I don't think the coordinators have decided on set times for these yet but they usually run for about an hour from 11am and 2pm Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll update this notice for next week to confirm. Training sessions also count towards volunteer discount hours.
Regular Volunteer Position Available (Roster Person)
From Andrew
Eleanor did a great job at updating the roster board and uploading it to the website last semester but she's no longer available late on Thursdays to continue this role. If you're able to be at the shop every Thursday at about 5pm (we're flexible, though) and would like a simple but regular volunteer job, let Andrew know (info@thoughtfulfoods.org.au) and he can give you more details.
Regular items:Yoga
Still no yoga. Stay tuned!
