28 August - 3 September 2011

Welcome to the start of the Co-op week. As you know, the Co-op is closed on Mondays and we are currently thinking of shifting the bulletin to Tuesday mornings. So no, the bulletin isn't late this week and hopefully it adds a little sparkle to your Tuesday morning.

Regular Notes

Food Co-op Meeting

Want to help out with the running of the Co-op? Got an idea you'd like to implement? Come along and be part of our collective decision-making.

The new regular meeting time has now been confirmed as 1pm Mondays, once a fortnight. The next meeting will be on Monday the 12th of September. (P.S. this counts for your volunteer discount!)

Fruit & Veg

Please get all orders in by 4.30pm Tuesday the week of the order. All order must be paid for in advance - money placed inside order form. Only active 2011 members are able to order fruit and vegetable boxes.

Boxes can be picked up between 2pm and 5pm on Thursday only. If you can not get your box before 5pm, please call the shop on 9385 6097. If you have any questions about the process, please email Veggies or speak to a volunteer in the shop during opening hours. Box refunds can not be organised after 5pm Sunday.

Bread

Your order must be placed and paid for in the shop by 6pm Thursday, the week before you wish to receive your order.

Firstly, a BIG thank-you to everyone who has been placing their bread orders in a way that makes it easy to follow (I so appreciate it). However some people are still unclear about how to order bread here at Thoughtful Foods. If you want to enjoy this service, make sure you follow these instructions:

* to fill your order, print your name legibly, and in this format: first name, last initial, member number. For example for Marge Simpson 123 this would be "Marge S 123". If you do not place your order in this way or if I can't read it, you won't get it. In this case, just write it in again for the following week in the specified format and so it is easily legible - then you will get your order.

* the way you know which bread is yours when it arrives on Thursday is from little plastic tags that are stuck in the bread. Please always return these tags (ask a vollie) and file them under the letter of your first name

* our supplier has been good lately, but sometimes they miss a loaf. If you loaf has been missed I will automatically order it again for you next week, there is no need for you to do anything

Volunteer Training

Regular training times are Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 2 and 4pm so send us an email to book a time. Alternatively if you can't make it to a regular training time, email Training with details of when you are available so we can work something out.

Yoga Classes

Our Yoga instructor Tyler runs free Yoga classes on Thursdays at 2pm outside the Co-op.

Membership

Annual fees for 2011 are $15 for the whole year (reducing to $10 on July 1st and $5 on November 1st). Annual fees had not changed in at least ten years and this new annual free structure better reflects that there are now three parts to the year (Semester 1, Semester 2 and summer). To keep your membership active you must renew your membership by paying the annual fee before March 1st each year. New members are required to pay the annual membership fee (see above) as well as $10 for a refundable share in Thoughtful Foods. (Please see the Membership Information Sheet for more details on membership and shares.)

Please ensure that you use your new membership number when placing orders - otherwise your order may not be processed.

Gardening

We have our own garden bed to play with. If you want to be a part of growing tasty morsels, have green thumbs and garden knowledge to share, or just like pottering around in the soil, email Gardening to see how you can get involved!

Volunteering in the garden earns you the same discounts as volunteering in the shop. Hope to see you there!
