Volunteering
Thoughtful Foods is a volunteer-run co-operative, and we are always in need of extra hands to help with tasks inside and outside the shop. Volunteering is what makes the co-op a co-op - the only way we operate is through the hard work of all our volunteers. It also earns you a discount in-store
Training
Before you volunteer you need to complete one hour of training.
All new volunteers are given an introduction to Thoughtful Foods, food safety and OH&S. In session 1, 2013, regular training sessions will be held 11am and 2pm every Tuesday and 11am Wednesday. If you would still like to volunteer but unable to make these times, please email training - training (at) thoughtfulfoods.org.au and let us know! Training sessions immediately earn you a 25% discount for that week and if you stick around - possibly more!
Volunteer roster
Once you have completed a volunteer training session, you can sign up for shifts by putting your name down on the roster located outside the Co-op. A maximum of two people can sign up per shift.
Volunteering tasks:
For a full list of tasks, check out the Volunteer Opportunities page. This page is updated regularly, however for the most current information ask in the shop or email training(at)thoughtfulfoods(dot)org(dot)au
Discounts
If you work one hour in a week you qualify for a 25% discount; two hours in a week gets you a 40% discount. You also get a warm fuzzy feeling from helping to keep the Co-op alive!
